Exhibition design: prosthetic aesthetics
This is a model of an exhibition about the design of prosthetics and how they have progressed beyond purely being functional to also prioritizing appearance. Given the nature of the topic, the composition uses a variety of prosthetic-inspired assets in order to give the exhibition a mechanical aesthetic. Imagery is utilized as a way of directing the viewer’s eye to key information, and each picture is meant to stand out from the complex background vector elements. The actual size of the exhibition would be about 12’ by 24’, as such, information is displayed near the middle of the wall for optimal viewing angles.

2 - The original sketch was then expanded into potential layouts.

3 - The name “Prosthetic Aesthetics” was chosen, and a logo was created. Certain letters in the title were stylized to resemble prosthetic limbs.

4 - The stylized letters from the logo were used to create this intricate texture. This element would go on to be included in the final design.

5 - The first digital layout was far simpler then the final. At the time, the color palette was not decided and I had not yet collected/edited all the imagery.
